40 nominations and 18 wins for Inglourious Basterds so far

by Paul William Tenny

Christoph WaltzI've been having a running debate with a cultural lightweight on another site about whether or not Inglourious Basterds is even a good film, inspired by a specific person's outright anger that IB might get nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. Never mind a win.

I'll save a rehash of that argument for another day, but in service of that debate, I rounded up a list of awards that Basterds has been nominated for, and won. As the post title suggests, Basterds has received a total of 40 nominations, of which 18 were won and 21 were not. There are a few nominations and a win for Best Picture, but we'll have to wait for the Academy Awards as their list isn't out yet.
